At the Perseverance Through Adversity Award Luncheon

Maggie Gobran, known as “Mama Maggie,” presented Howard Ahmanson with a special gift during the Perseverance through Adversity Luncheon held at Los Angeles City Hall on March 18, 2019. Mama Maggie, sometimes referred to as Egypt’s Mother Teresa, is the founder of Stephen’s Children, a ministry to the forgotten children in Egypt’s garbage slums.

Mama Maggie gave Howard a special icon gift from Egypt, painted by Nazih Rifaat, one of her school graduates, who creates iconography and mosaic art pieces.
