Mestizo Archipelago
Los Angeles, CA
September 9, 2018
On September 9, 2018 The Ahmanson Gallery welcomed Christian and Christina Gonzalez Ho for the launch of their new publication Mestizo Archipelago. The book, researched and written throughout the course of 2017, seeks to distill the complex and disparate nature of Los Angeles’ art history, its artists’ unique relationship to both the city and to spiritual faith and to the current burgeoning art scene by examining the city’s idiosyncratic geography (physical and cultural), as well as the economic and sociological concatenations which created it.
Christina Gonzalez Ho is a writer, researcher, and attorney. She holds a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Stanford University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. Christian Gonzalez Ho is a writer, designer, and cultural theorist. He holds a B.A. in American Studies from Fordham University and a Master of Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
